Fishing |
Fishing in the Lakes and Mountain Region of Western Maine is a true treat. The scenery is beautiful, the water is clear and the fishing is great! Our main species to go after are large and smallmouth bass. The state of Maine works very hard to maintain a high quality fisheries with stocking programs and water quality rules and regulations. There are several lakes in the area that have a great population of large and smallmouth bass that will keep the poles bent and the lines tight at a pretty good pace. 4lb to 6lb bass on light tackle to medium tackle or a flyrod will make any angler’s heart race and that is my goal. We fish out of a 18′ fully equipped Polarcraft boat that is very comfortable and safe. Because safety, quality and comfort are priorities we have a 2 adult or 1 adult 2 kids max. for these trips (not including your guide). You can fish with your own equipment or we can supply it for you at no additional cost. If you are like me and have a passion for fly fishing, we also have several small ponds that hold smallmouths. These ponds have very little fishing pressure and can be non stop action for these hard fighting fish. These trips are done out of canoes or kayaks depending on your preference. We also have a 12′ v-hull that can be used if kids are involved, which adds additional safety and more hands on when a little extra help is needed. An evening on these small ponds is a great way to end a day of turkey hunting or a day on the bigger lakes. There is no bad day of fishing so bring you raingear, we’ll take care of lunch and finding the fish.
Day Ender:
If you only have a limited amount of time, we offer an evening fishing package where we will fish the last 3hrs of the day (sometimes the best part of the day). This can be a great experience for young kids who can’t fish all day and a lot of action is needed. We can find schools of white perch which can offer non stop action for the kids, while putting up a heck of a fight in addition to being great table fare. This is my kid’s favorite type of fishing. It is also the time the lunker bass are out feeding so chances of landing one of these hard fighting hogs is likely. Give us a call and we can customize a trip for you.
